What seemed like a temporary fad is not so temporary anymore. It’s been years since the battle royale genre has been dominating the market. Rarely, someone minimally linked to the world of video games has not heard the term “Battle Royale”. The Battle Royale mode consists of massive combat between players who appear on a large map without weapons or consumables and must equip themselves with whatever they find and be the last ones alive to win.

Many super successful titles practice this game mode, most of them are quite similar, so if you are looking for something different from the “mainstream” ARK: The Survival of the Fittest is for you!

The Survival of the Fittest mode of ARK: Survival Evolved is played on specially configured servers. Gameplay takes place in an accelerated manner, leveling up, collecting, taming, and building at a much faster pace than in the normal game. To even out the gameplay, players take no fall damage, and stats have been altered so that dinosaurs are no longer as powerful. The engrams, buildable items, and supply boxes have been rebalanced as well, and are automatically learned when you level up.

The environment consists of the now customary ARK island, with slight modifications. At the start of each game, all players start on a platform in the middle of the island. In the center of the platform is a large number of supplies and weapons that players can obtain. Players can choose to collect those resources (with the risk of being attacked by other players), or directly run into the jungle, similar to the beginning of The Hunger Games. The area in which players can move is restricted by barriers, and becomes progressively smaller, forcing a confrontation between players.

The moment of battle in ARK: Survival Evolved’s Survival of the Fittest is approaching… Do you have what it takes to survive?
