Action and science fiction movies owe a lot to guns. And the bigger and more devastating they are, the better they look on screen. Some characters would be nothing without their weapon. Can you imagine Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead without his crossbow or John Rambo without his machine gun? We will talk about the latter below: The Minigun is a multi-cannon machine gun with a high rate of fire (thousands of rounds per minute), employing the Gatling system of rotating barrels.

The Minigun is a new weapon introduced in Genesis: Part 2. It is a machine gun that can be used to quickly fire at a target. It has incredible damage power, but, like everything in life, it has a good side and a bad side. The Minigun has two negative aspects, the first aspect we can mention is the most obvious one since it has an extremely fast firing speed, the Minigun consumes a lot of ammunition, therefore, it is a quite expensive weapon. It requires a large number of materials to create a Minigun and costs 118 advanced rifle bullets to fire for 6 seconds. The second aspect is that it can overheat from overuse.

The Minigun will not cool down until you stop firing and if fired for too long (6 seconds when held in hand and 12 seconds when deployed) it will overheat. When it overheats you will not be able to fire or rotate the gun until it cools down. When it cools down, it will maintain the increased rate of fire for a short time and will accelerate the mouse sensitivity, allowing you to spin faster and get a new target.

The Minigun, when spinning and/or firing, will reduce the mouse sensitivity and speed of movement, making targets such as Alpha Raptors unwise due to the speed at which they move (and the large amount of spinning they do). On the other hand, the Minigun prevents its use in a different ARK than the one it was created in, for example, you can’t make one in Genesis Part 2 and transfer it to Scorched Earth.

The Minigun is passively cooled, which means that when it overheats, you can switch weapons or Miniguns and wait for it to cool down. It is great for destroying large or slow targets as every shot can hit the target. It cannot be deployed in boss arenas, and it is probably not advisable to use it against any bosses due to the damage reduction.
